Terms of Service
These Terms govern use of useiwa.com and the IWA platform. Please also read our Privacy Notice, Parental Consent Policy and Child Safety & AI Governance Framework.
1. Description of Service
IWA provides a cloud-based interactive character-building and reflection platform. The Platform features human-authored character modules, reflection prompts and private text-based reflection spaces.
2. Age Restrictions and Parental/School Consent
The Platform is designed for minors aged 10 to 17, grouped into age bands 10–12, 13–15 and 16–17.
Accounts for minors are created and authorised solely by a parent/guardian (for home use) or by an authorised school administrator (for school use). Minors cannot register an account themselves.
Parental consent: by creating an account, a parent/guardian confirms they are the child's parent/guardian and authorises IWA to create and manage the child's account, as described in our Parental Consent Policy. Consent may be withdrawn by writing to iwaconcierge@useiwa.com.
School consent: a school onboarding students warrants that it has obtained all necessary parental consents before doing so.
3. Account Security and Pseudonymization
A child's basic profile (first name, nickname or student number, age band and class association) is held separately from their reflections. IWA never collects children's surnames, email addresses, photos, videos or voice recordings.
Reflections, module activity and AI safety checks are processed using randomised identifiers. Before any safety check, names, emails and phone numbers in the text are masked.
Users are responsible for keeping usernames, PINs and passwords confidential and must notify IWA immediately of any unauthorised use.
4. Acceptable Use and Safety Moderation
Users must not submit obscene, violent, pornographic or harassing text; share personal contact information such as phone numbers or home addresses in reflection boxes; or infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy.
Reflections pass through an automated safety check. Where a serious safeguarding concern is identified (for example an abuse disclosure, self-harm indicator or severe threat), an alert is routed for human review to IWA Administrators and, where the child is linked to a school, that school's Super Admins.
The parent is also informed, except where a concern may involve the home or where the child raised it themselves; in those cases the parent is not notified automatically, to protect the child.
5. AI and Machine Learning Boundaries
AI is used solely to check submitted reflection text for safety concerns. All learning modules and reflection prompts are written by people, not generated by AI.
AI safety flags are informational signals requiring human confirmation. They are not clinical, psychological, medical or diagnostic assessments and are never a substitute for professional counselling. AI never scores, ranks, labels or judges a child's effort or character.
IWA does not use reflections or personal data to train, retrain or tune any AI or machine learning model.
6. Intellectual Property
IWA content, including curriculum, stories, characters, learning materials and related intellectual property, is owned by Peaches and Peaches Concepts. IWA technology and platform operations are provided through Steward Fin. Limited.
Children retain ownership of their original reflections and grant IWA a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process and transmit them solely to operate the service, including showing learning progress and reflections to authorised adults: parents see reflections only when the child shares them or a safety concern requires it.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, IWA is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential damages.
No automated safety system can detect every concern. Final safeguarding oversight rests with parents, school safeguarding leads and IWA's human reviewers.
8. Account Suspension, Retention and Deletion
IWA may suspend or terminate accounts for repeated or severe violations of these Terms.
Inactivity never leads to automatic deletion. Data is kept under our retention policy and is deleted or anonymised when a parent withdraws consent, an account closure is requested, or a school ends its use, except where a limited record must be kept by law or for safeguarding.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law principles.
